A Great Place to Volunteer

Many volunteer opportunities are available at Henry County Hospital through the volunteer program and the Henry County Hospital Foundation.  Volunteering offers people the ability to fulfill a purpose and make a difference while enjoying worthwhile work. Henry County Hospital currently has over 80 volunteers assisting with daily operations.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, there are a variety of areas where volunteers offer their services. Below is a listing and description of those areas:

Nutrition Services:

Volunteers assist Nutrition Services in the kitchen and the cafeteria. The volunteer will fulfill basic kitchen duties as assigned to them by the Nutrition Services Manager. These duties will include, but are not limited to running the cash register, stocking in the cafeteria, cleaning tables and salad bar area, assisting in the kitchen with food preparation, washing dishes, and basic cleaning. The volunteer is responsible for confidentiality and adhering to the Hospital guidelines and their specific orientation.

Gift Shop:

A Gift Shop Volunteer provides staffing for the hospital Gift Shop. The volunteer is responsible for running the cash register, pricing items for sale, giving input about the gift shop's product line, and other duties as assigned. The Development Department helps to coordinate the Gift Shop activities. The volunteer is responsible for confidentiality and adhering to the Gift Shop guidelines and their specific orientation.

Welcome Center:

Volunteers staff the Welcome Center Desk. The volunteer provides direction to the patients and visitors. These directions include, but are not limited to, Outpatient Registration, Cardiac Rehab, consulting physicians, physician practices, Massage Therapy, Laboratory, Medical Imaging, Rehabilitation Services, Surgery and all In-Patient areas. The volunteer is responsible for confidentiality and adhering to the Hospital's guidelines and their specific orientation.

Administrative Services:

The Administrative Services Volunteer assists with functions in the office areas of the hospital. Duties include copying, scanning, newspaper review, expense check review and distribution, board packet distribution, pre-visit phone calls and other daily office functions as deemed necessary. The volunteer is responsible for confidentiality and adhering to the Hospital's guidelines and their specific orientation.
